This was a great movie. The ending was a surprise. That is the kind of movie I like to watch. This movie starts out one way and make you think the characters are a certain way and by the ending you find out your thinking is totally wrong. That is my kind of movie.

This movie will keep you guessing till the end. It is well made and the characters are well developed and the personal of the movie will keep you guessing. This is a really good movie, one of the best I have seen in a while. It is worth the price and time you spend to watch it. I am sure I will watch is again because I may have missed parts of it. when I watched it the first time.

What kid of f'ed up kids break into someone's house and torture an old man???? I mean seriously!!!!! I have cameras in my house already and if someone broke in and tried to scare me, I'd be getting the last laugh and they'd be getting a funeral!!! But with that said, it is an excellent movie. You won't be disappointed. I can't believe anyone would give this anything less than 5 stars.

Two young teens work on an experiment to drive an elderly neighbor {who is not the most popular man in the neighborhood} crazy. This movie has a very unique plot using the cameras in this film as a way to see the damage being done to James Caan who has never been creepier. They see the effects take its toll as they have rigged his home lights going on and off, thermostat controls banging doors etc just to prove a point that you can make someone think they are going crazy.
This is a really good thriller with some good tense moments and with an original plot that keeps you guessing through out. I will say when there was the final reveal I was a little let down, but at the same time shocked at how Caan reacted to everything.
Great acting, some good tense moments and an original script and give it up for James Caan who is as intense as they come and has those expressions and without saying a word he dominates the screen each time he is on.

I thought this movie was about 2 teenagers who spy and torment a serial killer...... NO! I was wrong and the movie trailer hides this from the viewer until the very end.

The ending was so awful (in a good way)....... I literally had to watch a Disney movie and eat ice cream to calm my anger after the movie. That's how you know you watched a good movie....when you empathize with the characters and want to beat the crap out of the bad guys.

This was devastating commentary on how the youngest generation has degenerated into perverted, malicious trash. I couldn't believe the level of inhumanity and irresponsibility of these teenage punks. Not only are they picking on a lonely old man without any justification, they're targeting him because he's "different," which shows how prejudiced and narrow-minded they really are, despite all the propaganda to the contrary. Most of the movie is them talking to their own cameras, filming their trashy, retarded BS. Their self-obsession carves out new lows: the viler teen actually records himself masturbating to pornography, constantly spewing misogynistic drivel that he thinks is so funny...oh, but we find out halfway through that it's because he's just like his wife-beating piece of dung dad who beat the character's own mother so badly that he got himself sent to prison. And the real reason this punk wanted to torment the old man is because "the good neighbor" helped the abused woman the night her so-called husband assaulted her, even talking her into divorcing the piece of dung. That's right: the long-haired teen pervert is so evil that he actually hates the old man for helping HIS OWN MOTHER against the wife-beater - he wanted his own mom to stay with the abuser, who seems to be the only one he cares about at all. The manipulative use of language when talking about the abuse -- the lawyer refusing to name it as abuse, as one party violently attacking and oppressing the other, refusing to recognize the abuser as the perpetrator despite it being official record -- really made my blood boil. An absolute disgrace. People should study how this type of passive language is regularly used by guilty parties to disown responsibility; by the media, to "spin" things the way they want; and by governments and powerful people to create confusion about who did what to whom and why. Rarely do movies rankle me this much, but WOW, this was a parade of inhumane, despicable garbage. Wanton abuse of the elderly, descending into outright torture and MURDER, recorded and laughed at by evil little trolls who are actually eagerly looking forward to getting *famous* off of it...It made me ready to throw up. And abuse and exploitation of women, with pin-ups and trashy language everywhere, with abuse "spun" into some kind of equal-footed "altercation" that no one seemed to care about.

And as if all that wasn't enough -- the ending was one of the most outrageous miscarriages of justice I've seen in a movie. That judge even recognized that what these criminals did amounted to felony murder -- and then gave them the most lax sentence possible! How??? Why have we sunk to this? He didn't have to do that. He had the power in his hands to administer something truly punishing, even if it had to be less than they deserved. Judges like these are part of the reason our society has degenerated like this. Criminals like this are extremely selfish -- they won't do what they don't think they can get away with. Punish them!

The old man and his wife, and that cop, are the only decent, recognizably human people in the whole story. I can't fathom why her sister would testify for the defense, except frustration with her BIL, or deciding he was crazy in the years since she last saw him. The scenes showing what was really going on with the old man almost made me tear up, and made the whole thing so much more revolting. In a sick way, the evil done ennobled the victims even while it lowered the perpetrators to unimaginable lows. The worst part was seeing that malicious little pervert enjoying his 15 minutes of fame after evading justice in the end -- you can tell from his eyes that he loved negative attention as much as positive attention...that's a key trait of psychopaths.

Do yourself a favor and don't read a whole lot about this one before you watch it. I came into this knowing very little about the movie, just saw a trailer on YouTube and decided it looked interesting. I wasn't wrong. The end will catch you by surprise if you're at all invested in this. There are some slow parts, but the movie has a good build to it and the slow bits don't last long at all. Totally worth renting.

You need to watch to the very end to learn the truths of the good neighbor who James Caan depicts as the great actor he is and has always been.

Everyone has a differing opinion, as everything, my suggestion is, this is a film worth watching, now go and do so yourself and then you will see how this really is a worthwhile film to watch.
