Somewhat difficult to learn the opening operation. Like a mechanical puzzle, one cable end must be pushed down and slid back to release.
Easy to set combination.
High points: Heavy construction, large loop making it adaptable to a variety of suitcase zipper configurations. My 25" suitcase has a front pocket, expander and "front door", all three with zippers meeting at the top and securable with one of these Victorinox cable locks.

I love this lock because I can use it on everything. The wire strap fits through any zipper. I purchased this lock as a replacement to one that was cut off by a foreign airline. I've used it for many years and am very pleased with it. I gave it four stars because the instruction on how to reset the combination are backwards (the written instructions as well as the picture). Purchaser beware that in order to reset the combination the set screw turns clockwise not counterclockwise. I ended up stripping the set screw on the first lock I received and had to return it.

Followed the instructions to the letter but I just can not get the lock to work, i.e. to allocate a new 3 digit combination. The screw at the bottom that needs to be turned anti clock wise after setting the combination to 0 0 0 (for first time use)will not budget even after pressing it down. The only reason to give this a 2 * is because it looks and feels good. So much for Swiss technology. Please help me out some one.

This cable lock is not durable. The cable frays and breaks just above the metal fitting after a couple years of moderate air travel. Contacted Victorinox customer service directly about its poor design. Victorinox reply indicated a lack of interest in customer satisfaction. Very disappointed. Have been using the Victorinox lock with a solid metal loop for the past couple years -- this lock is quite durable...
