Aftermarket memory is the only cost-effective way to upgrade (and max out) the memory in a new laptop any more. Been using both Kingston or Crucial branded memory for years, never had any fail on me yet; only reason I switch between the two is because one might have a better price than the other when I'm upgrading a family member's computer. Both are reputable, high quality brands, both have outstanding warranty coverage just in case, and I have no qualms about buying either, just that Kingston had the best Amazon price this time around :)
Before buying, I recommend you check their company webpages and use their respective memory configuration applications verify the memory you selected is indeed the correct one for your machine, it is worth the effort, since Amazon doesn't have a cross reference to ensure what they have listed/described is or isn't what you need -- been down that road once, part number off by one letter but still described in listing as compatible when Kingston said it wasn't; Kingston was accurate, Amazon description wasn't. Sure, Amazon made returning for correct item easy, but still...the couple extra minutes double checking would have saved me the time and trouble.
